Issue 100: New Upgrade is Changing the Way to Trade - Masters in Trading Digest

Our Gift to you
In celebration of 100 issues

This Tuesday, we held our Volatility Visualizer Information session to Introduce the NEW High Probability Charting Scans for Thinkorswim.

Focus on Volatility

Over the last few issues, we have been focused on using the market's volatility as a trading strategy. This strategy has been made even easier thanks to the Volatility Visualizer Tool from Masters in Trading.

Volatility Visualizer was created for Thinkorswim as a tool to help retail traders to be able to trade like professionals. This tool's main purpose was to make it easier for people like yourself.

Honestly, it was created because I wanted to make it easier to represent the expected range of a stock's straddle visually.

Our tried and true first step to finding trades is with the Wall Street Wiretapper, Masters in Trading's AI-driven  Unusual Options Activity Scanner. Once we've found where the ‘smart money’ is headed, the High-Value Target (HVT) tool shows us if we should buy or sell a stock.

Volatility Visualizer shows us the expected range of a stock by presenting a visual representation of the straddle along with supporting historical metrics.

WHAT DOES VOLATILITY VISUALIZER DO?

Curious to see how many times $XYZ trades within its monthly straddle? Volatility Visualizer will show you the exact percentage a name closes within the straddle (expected move). The tool works using monthly expected move data and weekly expected move data.

For example, if $AAPL stays within it’s ‘expected move’ 95% of the time for the last 3 years, we conclude that market-makers are pricing this stock to perfection. That’s not surprising since $AAPL is the most liquid stock in the world, followed by the most analysts, with 100s of market makers.

If we consider a stock less well-known, and see that this stock has closed within it’s expected move only 25% of the time, it’s safe to conclude that market makers are not good at valuing this stock, and the volatility might be priced too inexpensively.  The data presented with Volatility Visualizer is another utility in the trader's toolbelt that you’ll use daily for every trade you consider risking capital.
