Uber Technologies Inc is surging ahead of its biggest competitor Lyft Inc, as the rideshare firm expands in key markets across the globe. Determined to beat lockdown lows, Uber has been rapidly investing in travel and reopening borders with remarkable success – despite a driver shortage crisis facing both firms.
On Friday (Feb 10), however, shares of rival company Lyft dropped over 30% after they reported lower than expected profits for their first quarter forecast – an echo that suggests Uber may be leading this competitive fight even further away from reach.
